Some say that the best things come in small packages? Well we do anyway, having tested the Intelliplug ourselves, we can give it a great thumbs up from us.
We tested it with both a Computer setup and home AV setup.
With the computer we plugged in the main computer to the main computer socket of the Intelliplug (via a UPS transformer for battery backup). We then added a couple of trailing sockets to house all the accessories including: Router/2 x LCD's/Printer/Speakers/Powered USB hub and a charger. Now with just one switch (on the computer), we can switch on the computer and all accessories. And on the flip side, when asking the computer to switch off (in Windows), the PC shuts down. A couple of seconds later all accessories power off too. Brilliant.
On the LCD TV, well the TV is connected to the main socket again on the Intelliplug, a trailing adapter to the other. In which we connect a DVD player, Receiver/Surround system, set top box and LED lighting (back light on the rear of the LCD TV).
With the remote control for the TV, we could then switch on and off not just the TV, but all accessories and LED lighting too! Great.
In both cases, you just feel like you are doing your bit, also a reduction in fuel bills is to follow, as no longer are all accessories left connected and running in standby. It got to be a no-brainer and we put it as top of our list of must haves this 2007.
